Located at Arera Hills Bhopal, the project for State IT centre presented a unique kind of challenge. While highly firm requirement for data centre posed the unusual demands of infrastructure, the concrete box of data centre called for a different kind of architecture altogether. The design team broke the box with covered porticos and public spaces around the Data centre areas creating a highly dynamic and unique design. The building is designed to withstand heavy loads of Data centre with precision air-conditioning, power drawn from different grids and state of the art connectivity infrastructure. Unlike commonly seen commercial architecture, the idea was to create an outward-looking building, mindful of its context. The open plan makes the space flexible to be used by the occupants as per their requirements.
