The construction of 11- storeyed, 1.5 million sq.ft., District Court Building at Indore is all set to commence. The Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan will be laying out the foundation stone for 169 court building on the 8th of September. Many prominent dignitaries like Justice Arun Mishra and Justice Hemant Gupta will also grace the occasion. The proposed 1.5 million square feet complex, spread over an area of more than 18 acres is sited near Pipiliyahana Lake, Bypass Road, Indore. The building .will be designed primarily in 2 blocks- the Main Court block and the Service block.
The Main Court which will hold the vital court functions and 169 fully-fledged courtrooms. While the Service block will constitute of 784 Lawyers Chambers and facilities for Bar Association. Beside these, common public facilities like Dispensary, Stationary, Store Room, Bank, Post Office, and Restaurant will also be catered into the design.
The building will have room to accommodate multi-level parking for more than 15,000 cars at once. The provision of 21 lifts and 18 escalators has been provided in the proposal for thorough movement. Once completed, the building will be acquainted with provisions for Solar panel and 100% Rain water Harvesting. There will also be a system of Grey water recycling and reusing it for flushing and landscape purposes. The project is expected to complete in 30 months.
